Vol. Mummy No. Deady

What a fantastic month - and to see all the Halloween decorations from years past and of course I forget them every year, so it's a fun surprise to unwrap them and place them ever so carefully all over the living room and I gotta say the three flower-covered pumpkins with Grumpy the vulture and Ferdinand the ghoul guarding them on the kitchen table is the most fun.

I always get lots of really good candy even though not a single little ghost or princess comes up the steep driveway (I think they would, with high expectations which I would gladly fulfill, it's their parents who don't want to have to drag themselves up).

What's wonderful as well is many of the Facebook community post their Halloween decorations. I must confess I find a few of them are a tad odd but creative nonetheless. Like in the front yard there's a huge ugly monster standing in a bathtub.

Why don't vampires eat Halloween candy? (They're afraid of tooth decay)

SKELETAL ADVERT: Yep, barely any-body here for this very short update. The 9th Grayson Sherbrooke novella is done - The Bizarre Pyramid at Saltcoat Abbey - I'll let you know when it'll be out, only in ebook. A ghost and a demon but neither in a bathtub.

I swear to you, I did take a break, two whole days, before a new novel didn't ask for permission, just started itself. Imagine a contract signed at the end of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Now it's 1842 and two very different people have to fulfill it. How's that for a cool teaser? Of course, I have no more idea of what's going to happen than the poor characters –- consider me teased as well.

(A skeleton walks into a bar and orders a beer and a mop. What does his weight-conscious vampire friend order? Blood light)

I hope all of you have entered the yearly NFL contest - it's now week 6, and isn't that impossible? If you haven't, hie yourself to Facebook and dive in. It's easy and fun and frustrating. As my dad used to say, "The dratted team folded like a two-dollar suitcase."

Incredible realization: Steph Curry will be 39 next year. The "Baby-Faced Assassin" still looks 15.

Here's one to pass around. What's the best compliment to give to a vampire? (You Suck)

Happy Halloween –

Catherine
