Vol. Go No. Niners

Did anyone know today, the 14th, is Dress Up Your Pet Day - I kid you not. So, did ya? Prove it if you did, post photos on my Facebook page, the one I like best gets a prize. What prize, you may wonder? Hey, guess.

I always picture a group of very peculiar and eclectic folk sitting in a room sprawled on bean bags being paid to come up with something for everyone to do each day of the year. Yeah, I know, where does one apply? I wonder if they perhaps pay in dry roasted peanuts?

Another winner is Speak Like A Pirate Day. The visuals with that one can leave you speechless.

Now the NFL Wild Card games were all played this past weekend. The Play-off Football Minions decided to crown me the wild card worthy winner because I got all six games right. Did you hear the cheering in the household? Boy that crown feels good.

But alas, this weekend's play-offs I'm going with my heart, not head. Usually I find the heart never wins, at least when it comes to picking play-off winners. All of you in the Football Pool on my Facebook page, which way are you swinging? Head or heart?

Painless Advert: THE HEIR OF WHITESTONE is coming out the end of next month. If you haven't already, do me a big favor and pre-order the novel. Why, you ask? Because all the pre-orders get dumped into the first week sales numbers and that boosts where you land on the bestseller lists. Sounds good, right? Well, for me it sure does. I know, Make Catherine Ecstatic Day.

Briefly, THE HEIR OF WHITESTONE is set in 1842 England - mystery/comedy/romance - with a you'll not see it coming twist. So go forth and make me ecstatic.

New Year's Resolutions: Alexa just told me resolutions go back some 2000 years to the Babylonians (pay back my debts, for example) But my question is, did Babylonians ever vow to lost weight? Get fit?

My gym sure loves the Get Fit resolution, they gain a ton of new members who show up for maybe one month. Do you have one? Me? Leaving the lid screwed shut on the weekly gallon jar of salted dry roasted peanuts, a maybe small, inconsequential resolution, I know, but peanut by peanut I just might do it this year. Whatever your resolution, don't lose your head and make one utterly unattainable, like flying with Musk to Mars.

Are ye ready to walk the plank, Matey? ---Catherine Coulter
