Vol. Vay No.Cation

Hi Guys: Already closing in on September and that is fantastic, sort of like Christmas, if you have children and -- wait for it -- they’ll be off to school and you’ll have a reasonable life once again. For those of you who are retired, your life will continue to be nirvana and isn’t that wonderful.

FOOTBALL SEASON: I know, I know, pre-season always is a big suck, and no one cares about the third-string QB. But, when the season begins we’ll have our annual football contest – been having this for a very long time but it just occurred to me you guys might want to join the fun. Just come to Facebook.com/catherinecoulterbooks – and stay awhile, and in the first week of September I’ll be giving out rules and regs on how we’ll compete this season. Of course, the winners will get prizes. You have one guess as to what the prizes are.

Did a lovely vacation down the California coast, visited Hearst Castle in San Simeon. The sucker’s 70,000 sq. feet, crammed with old/ancient stuff from everywhere in the known universe, from 14th century French choir stalls to 8th century tiles from Istanbul. There are still zebras roaming around with the cattle. The polar bears, thankfully, were sent to the San Diego Zoo. The outdoor and indoor pools are amazing, really quite beautiful. BUT – there’s a statue of Neptune (about 1,300 B.C.) in the ancient triangular element high on one side of the pool. Alas, the space was too small so they cut off Neptune’s feet to make him fit, so poor guy is standing on his stumps.

THE DEMON IN THE WALL: The 8th Grayson Sherbrooke novella will be out sometime in September, ebook only and hopefully audio, will keep you posted. Below is the cover – I can hear your heart palpitate. Think bulging wall, funny kids, a spot in England where there isn’t much rain, (are you believing that?) scary pulsing tunnel, fantastical land. Interested? If you’re not, I fear for you.

Merry Christmas,

Catherine
