Volume 38 Number 02
Happy Easter to all:
We just got back from Las Vegas. I asked people what Las Vegas meant on my Facebook page and the very first answer was the best: Las Vegas is "lost wages." The real meaning is pretty cool -- meadow by the water. Huh? So maybe it's lost wages by the water. Evidently in the 19th century there were artesian wells in the area where people wanted to swim, but couldn't since the water was beneath the surface. While betting on if the water would ever break ground, they invented craps ... kinda hard on a rock, and they eventually lost everything.
We always gamble $10 bucks (what with inflation, it was $20 bucks this time). We consider it a casino tax. I love Wheel of Fortune because you get a chance to spin the wheel (not really spin, but you get to hit a big red button and round and round the wheel goes. I won $3.00 whole bucks but that lasted about 45 seconds. To see photos of the Bellagio (where we stayed) and the Grand Canyon, check at Facebook.com/CatherineCoulterBooks.
I'm finishing the final edit on The Prince of Ravenscar this week -- yea, hallelujah, you go, girl. It's a Sherbrooke historical, #11 in the series (can you believe that?!) with a cameo appearance by James and Corrie Sherbrooke, set in the spring of 1831. Remember the smuggler and Devlin the vampire in Sherbrooke Twins? They're starring in this one. Lots of fun, mystery, excitement. The Prince of Ravenscar will be published in hardcover and e-book on November 1st.
Valcourt Heiress is out in paperback on October 25th.
I've now got a presence (as in a poltergeist?) on Twitter and soon you'll be able to click from my web page to Twitter to Facebook and back again or you can go from the middle outward, or -- don't you love technology?
We're off to Florida next week to see my sister and husband in Fort Meyers Beach. Then on May 6th, we fly down to Long Beach for the Junior Olympics National Championships. I'll be seeing Kiwan Watts perform for the first time. He's a 15-year-old rising star and incredible -- I can't wait.
Then it's off to Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Capri -- I'm dying of fun here.
Have a great April - Catherine
