August 2009 Newsletter Number 22 Vol. 96

Happy August:

I can't help myself, I gotta start off with football fan talk: We're going to have another year of Brett Favre drama -- it'll keep the talking sports heads happy. I only hope his shoulder is completely well, if so, we'll watch him shine. What do you guys think about Michael Vick being signed by the Eagles? What do you think of Buffalo giving the key to the city to T.O.?

I can't wait to see the 49ers play the Raiders on Saturday -- my own feeling is the Raiders will win -- they did kick big Dallas butt last week, which was a joy to behold. As for the 49ers, they still don't have a quarterback, so I fear it will be the same old, same old despite Mike Singletary.

I would like to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for making me a famous gambling term. Yep, my husband now calls me Snake Eyes because both KnockOut and TailSpin hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. If you didn't think you were the greatest, you really really are.

I'm finishing up WHIPLASH, the 14th FBI, coming out next June, I would suppose. We have a senator who has this midnight visitor, only no one else can see the visitor but the senator. Then a man is found murdered, his face smashed in, in Van Wie Park, federal land, so the FBI is called in. It turns out the man is a trouble shooter for Schiffer Engel, a big pharmaceutical company in Germany.

When Whiplash goes to the publisher, I'll finish THE VALCOURT HEIRESS, a medieval romance about a knight who returns to his castle, now the master, and finds everyone gone. I think The Valcourt Heiress will be out the end of 2010.

There are two new kittens in the house -- Eli and Peyton. In a couple of weeks we'll have photos of them up. Since Corky died unexpectedly, Cleo wasn't doing well. Now, she's so pissed at the kittens she forgets to be bored and sad. For the rest of us humans, we miss Corky tons but we're loving having that little kitten energy around here.

I hope you've all had a very fine summer. I'll tell you about the New York trip next month after I take it --
